From December 9 to 13, 2024, ILEA Bangkok, in partnership with the United States Secret Service (USSS), hosted the eighth session of the Basic Investigations of Computer and Electronic Crimes Program (BICEP) in Bangkok, Thailand. BICEP is a week-long training program designed to equip law enforcement personnel with the skills to identify, investigate, and respond to a wide range of electronic and cyber-crimes.
The course was attended by 35 officers from Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Palau, Papua New
Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and Thailand. Participants gained foundational
knowledge in computer hardware, networking, hacking techniques, information
security, Internet resources, and the proper handling of electronic evidence.
The program also introduced the latest technology, tools, and equipment used in
law enforcement for cyber-crime investigations.
