From November 4-8, 2024, ILEA Bangkok, in collaboration with U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), hosted the Forced Labor Course
(FLC): Session 1 in Bangkok, Thailand. A total of 38 law enforcement officers from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam participated in
this specialized training. The course focused on enhancing the ability of law
enforcement to monitor and combat labor trafficking. It provided training on
the latest U.S. policy guidelines, legislative developments, and victim
identification techniques. Additionally, it offered best practices for working
with victims and securing convictions of traffickers. The course also covered
investigations into entities involved in importing goods produced using forced labor,
equipping officers with the necessary tools and knowledge to address this
global issue.
