ILEA Bangkok and U.S. Customs and Border Protection successfully concluded Session 1 of the International Air Cargo Interdiction Training (IACIT) on March 8, 2024. Attended by 40 participants representing 9 subscribing countries, the course aimed to bolster the enforcement capabilities of front-line and customs/law enforcement officials at airports. Throughout the training, participants delved into various crucial topics, including import and export operations, incident command structure, air cargo concealment methods, aircraft search procedures, internal conspiracies, contraband discovery techniques, air waybill and document analysis, inspectional tactics, officer safety protocols, and the overarching role of investigations in enforcement efforts.
