ILEA Budapest in Thailand

On August 3-8, 2022, ILEA Bangkok welcomed ILEA Budapest’s Deputy Director Edward Scott, and Anna Gyarmati, Digital Strategy - Alumni and Outreach Coordinator to the facility.

Our guests met with ILEA Bangkok’s Executive Director Pol Maj General Kasemsunti Yoosooksomboon, Program Director Andrew Cunney, Deputy Executive Director Pol Colonel Pachak Phromsiri, Deputy Director Kimberly Jones, and ILEA staff and discussed training courses and the future collaboration between the two ILEAs, followed by a facility tour.

In addition to the Bangkok visit, Deputy Director Scott visited an ILEA Bangkok training course held at the Law Enforcement Tactical Training Center (LETTC) in Cha-Am where he met with ILEA Bangkok Deputy Director Kyle Rego and participated in both internal and external classroom activities.

ILEA Budapest’s Academy opened in Budapest, Hungary in April 1995 to support the criminal justice sector development in the region.  Since its founding more than 24,000 participants from countries throughout Central/Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and North Africa have trained at ILEA Budapest.   (The numbers are from their website: https://budapest.ilea.state.gov/our-academy)

On August 8, 2022, ILEA Budapest met with ILEA Bangkok’s Program Director Andrew Cunney, Deputy Director Kimberly Jones, and visitors from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
