ILEA Bangkok has very exciting news to share! We maintained operations, through the continued health pandemic and trained over 300 law enforcement professionals. As a result, our Alumni utilized their training and had successful arrests. For example, Protection Manager Nickson Anak Robi from Indonesia used techniques from the Wildlife trafficking course to investigate, locate, and arrest a person trafficking over 2000 birds, which included ten types of protected species. Likewise, Superintendent Netnapa Ngamnet from Thailand used the Wildlife Border Inspection training to investigate, locate, and arrest a trafficker who was selling illegal wildlife online. Similarly, Chief Investigator Dedi Da Silva from Timor-Leste used his Cryptocurrency training to identify some computer crimes involving virtual cryptocurrency, which lead to a successful arrest and prosecution.
These success stories validate the value of ILEA Bangkok’s training, #CagetheBirds. Lastly, ILEA Bangkok was proud to receive and honor General Visanu Prasattongosth “Hin” with the 2021 ILEA Global Program Award for his outstanding cooperation with the United States. #RaisingtheBarHigher!
