On November 13, 2020, Police Major General Kasemsunti Yoosooksomboon, ILEA Bangkok Executive Director and Mr. Andrew B. Cunney, ILEA Bangkok Program Director, congratulated Police Lieutenant General Montri Yimyam on his recent promotion to the position of Commissioner of Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) of the Royal Thai Police (RTP).
Lieutenant General Montri is an ILEA Bangkok alumnus and a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Media and Press Relations course, which was offered by ILEA Bangkok in January 2019.
ILEA Bangkok was grateful to have the opportunity to congratulate two additional ILEA alumni who were promoted to senior levels within the NSB. Police Major General Pornpitak Ruyuenyong, was promoted to be Commander of Narcotics Suppression Division 1 and Police Major General Wanida Harnboonseth, who was promoted to be a Commander attached to NSB. ILEA was joined in its congratulations of the NSB Generals by DEA Far East Regional Director Christopher Nielsen, Assistant Regional Director Robert Cash, and DEA Bangkok Country Attaché Minh Nguyen.
ILEA Bangkok and NSB have a close long relationship that dates back to the initial concept of an ILEA being formed in Bangkok as a joint project between Thailand and The United States. More than 130 officers from NSB have graduated from ILEA Bangkok since ILEA Bangkok opened in 1999.
