Intellectual Property Rights Course: Session 9 (August 19-23, 2024)

From August 19-23, 2024, ILEA Bangkok and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) co-hosted the Intellectual Property Rights Course: Session 9, which brought together 32 participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, the Philippines, and Thailand. The course equipped attendees with up-to-date methodologies for protecting and regulating intellectual property rights (IPR).

Participants gained practical knowledge on contemporary investigative strategies and techniques for conducting criminal investigations and intercepting items that violate IPR statutes. The training emphasized the importance of partnering with industry representatives to enhance the interdiction, identification, and seizure of infringing items. Additionally, it covered strategies for the investigation and prosecution of individuals involved in IPR violations.

By the end of the course, attendees were well-prepared to apply these techniques in their respective roles, leveraging both new knowledge and industry collaborations to effectively combat IPR infringements.
