Empowerment and Inspiration Flourishing in Leadership for Women in Law Enforcement Course

In these modern times, it is clearly evident that women have demonstrated their leadership abilities in global law enforcement careers. To further empower and inspire female law enforcement officers in the region, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) with the coordination of ILEA Bangkok has organized the 8th Leadership for Women in Law Enforcement (LWLE) Course on October 7-11, 2019.

The interactive one-week training consisted of 40 participants who are law enforcement officers from eight ILEA-subscribing countries. Throughout the training, the instructors from FLETC assisted and motivated the participants to vocalize their credibility and apply lessons to make them more effective and professional leaders.  The participants were encouraged to share their experiences and current challenges that they face.   The significant role in global leadership that female law enforcement officers play was addressed during a panel discussion by special guest lecturers—Police Major Kwanta Chesadanont, Deputy Commissioner of Special Branch Bureau; Mrs. Aporadee Phoprom, Vice President of the Court of Appeal Region 1; and Mrs. Intranee Sumavong, Senior Public Prosecutor of Office of the Attorney General.

ILEA Bangkok also invited Ms. Jatuporn Saenghiran, Deputy Director General, Anti-human Trafficking Litigation Department, an ILEA Bangkok alum, to provide a presentation to the participants in the LWLE on leadership and her experiences as her career progressed, the possible challenges to prepare for, and how to handle them.
