FWS and ILEA Bangkok Presented the 9th Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program

On August 12-23, 2019, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and ILEA Bangkok together, hosted the 9th Wildlife Trafficking Investigator Program at ILEA Bangkok with 29 participants from 6 countries in the ASEAN region and our newest member country, Mongolia.
The two-week training provided an overview of various wildlife trafficking investigative topics from FWS instructors and wildlife identification presentations from wildlife guest experts: Dr. Anak Pattanavibool, Country Director for the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Thailand Program, and Assistant Professor Prateep Duengkae, Ph.D., Department of Forest Biology, Kasetsart University. The training, likewise highlighted the importance of maintaining and developing global networks to discuss and exchange intelligence between member countries to combat wildlife trade and related wildlife crime.
The participants were attentive during the lecture provided by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
During the group exercise, the participants consulted as they prepared their presentation.
The Indonesian participants presented souvenirs to ILEA Bangkok Directors at the closing ceremony of the training.
