From October 24, 2022 to November 4, 2022, ILEA Bangkok together with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) held a two-week course on Tactical Safety and Planning: Session 24, at the Law Enforcement Tactical Training Center (LETTC) in Cha-am, Thailand. There were 28 students, sworn law enforcement officers from active drug enforcement units, from five subscribing countries participating in the training. The training consisted of, drug raid planning and entry techniques, operational planning and briefing skills, risk assessments, handcuffing techniques, defensive tactics, ground defense, weapons and firearms use and safety, basic tactical medical trauma skills, vehicle-related arrests, suspect handling, and search techniques. All classroom topics were demonstrated and followed by extensive practical exercises including, tactical operations in low-light conditions, weapons simunitions, firearms training simulators, and medical device simulations, were used throughout the course. Furthermore, the instructors strongly emphasized the importance of operational planning to reduce the inherent risks associated in conducting tactical operations.
