Tactical Safety and Planning: Session 26 (October 21 - November 1, 2024)

From October 21 to November 1, 2024, ILEA Bangkok, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), conducted the 24th session of the Tactical Safety and Planning course at the Law Enforcement Tactical Training Center (LETTC) in Cha-am, Thailand. This intensive two-week program was designed to enhance the operational skills and safety of sworn law enforcement officers from active drug enforcement units. A total of 30 participants from five subscribing countries took part in the training.

The course covered a wide range of topics essential for tactical operations, including drug raid planning and entry techniques, operational planning and briefing skills, risk assessments, and defensive tactics. Participants received instruction in handcuffing techniques, ground defense, weapons and firearms use and safety, as well as basic tactical medical trauma skills. The training also focused on vehicle-related arrests, suspect handling, and search techniques.

All classroom sessions were reinforced with practical exercises, including tactical operations in low-light conditions, weapons simunitions, firearms training simulators, and medical device simulations. These hands-on activities allowed participants to apply the concepts in realistic scenarios. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of thorough operational planning to minimize risks inherent in conducting tactical operations.

Through this rigorous training, the course aimed to ensure that officers are well-prepared to handle high-risk situations while maintaining safety and efficiency in the field.
