On February 2, 2024, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Bangkok achieved a significant milestone in its endeavor to expand course offerings into the Pacific Islands. We successfully concluded our first Pacific Island Training Course, which included representatives from the U.S. Embassies and Consulates in Wellington, Suva, Koror, Port Moresby, and Honiara, supporting administrative and logistical efforts for over 20 countries and territories in the Pacific Islands region.
The course was a huge success. The Pacific Island Country (PIC) Coordinators were enthusiastic and provided valuable insights into facilitating future PIC participants to Bangkok. Their proactive approach in identifying potential issues will be instrumental in our future training courses. The positive feedback from all attendees and ILEA staff underscores their dedication, and they departed Bangkok as staunch supporters of the ILEA program. We eagerly anticipate continuing our collaboration with the PIC Coordinators for years to come.
