The First 2022 Alumni Event in Phuket

As part of the ILEA Alumni Outreach Program, the ILEA Bangkok team kicked-offed the year in style as they traveled to Phuket, Thailand, to host the first 2022 Alumni event. Leading the charge were Executive Director Major General Kasemsunti Yoosooksomboon (Kim) and Program Director Andrew Cunney, who opened the ceremony and welcomed over 100 invitees, including Alumni and law enforcement professionals from the area. The event was held at the historic Le Meridian Hotel, followed by a dinner for the invitees. With assistance from the extraordinary ILEA Bangkok team pictured below, the event turned out to be a spectacular networking opportunity for all who attended.

At the event Program Director Cunney, briefed attendees about the renovations at the ILEA Academy in Bangkok and the Tactical Training Facility in Cha-am. Additionally, he highlighted the new courses in the 2022 training schedule and emphasized the importance of the alumni program for maintaining relationships that they established during ILEA training. Furthermore, Program Director Cunney encouraged attendees to utilize the skills enhanced at ILEA Bangkok to combat transnational crime and submit their success stories in the ILEA Global Network (IGN).

Special Guest speaker, Special Agent Starla Sanchez from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Bangkok, provided an overview of HSI’s capabilities and highlighted their strategic partnership with ILEA and with fellow law enforcement professionals across Southeast Asia.
