The Joint FWS & CBP Wildlife Border Inspection Training

ILEA Bangkok, in coordination with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), hosted the 2nd Wildlife Border Inspection Training, August 26-30, 2019, on the campus of ILEA Bangkok.

The one-week training with 31 participants from 10 countries highlighted the intensive instruction on interdicting wildlife smuggling, case initiation, and management in wildlife crime investigations. The training also emphasized inspection techniques and procedures often used by FWS and CBP to develop cases. The training experience provides participants future opportunities to exchange intelligence between countries and gain insights on specific wildlife trafficking problems.

The instructors from FWS and CBP interacted with the participants during the lecture.

Laos participants presented the souvenir to ILEA directors after the graduation ceremony.
