Virtual Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program

ILEA Bangkok, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), and U.S. Department of Justice hosted the virtual Wildlife Trafficking Investigators Program, January 25-28, 2022, with 28 participants who are attorneys and wildlife-related investigators, from 8 ILEA subscribing countries.

The 4-day virtual wildlife training was intended to refine and enhance participant’s wildlife knowledge and techniques to combat wildlife trafficking crime and highlight the importance of developing and maintaining global contacts to exchange intelligence between countries. This training provided an overview of various wildlife trafficking investigative topics such as wildlife identification, case initiation and management, interviewing, undercover operations, and report writing.
