ILEA Bangkok, in partnership with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) from the Department of Justice (DOJ), hosted a 3-day Anticorruption Series: Trafficking in Persons Course (Virtual), October 13-15, 2021. There were 33 participants who are human trafficking investigators and prosecutors from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
This course was designed to build and develop law enforcement’s capacity to combat and prevent trafficking in persons. The training not only highlighted the importance of international cooperation, but also featured fundamentals of trafficking in persons, victim-centered and trauma-informed approach, the importance of multidisciplinary team, and case studies. The interactive virtual training provided the participants opportunity to share and exchange their expertise with HSI and OPDAT experts.
