FBI Assistant Director in Charge Akil Davis Visits ILEA Bangkok

On September 18, 2024, we had the honor of welcoming FBI Assistant Director in Charge Akil Davis, who leads the Los Angeles Field Office, to the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), Bangkok.

ILEA Director Efren Buenrostro Jr., along with Deputy Director Kyle Rego and members of the Royal Thai Police, hosted Assistant Director Davis during his visit.  It was a great opportunity to show him the important work the ILEA is doing to support law enforcement efforts across the Indo-Pacific region. We explained how the academy operates day-to-day and gave him a tour of our training facilities. It was a chance to highlight the strong partnership between the FBI and ILEA, especially in how FBI-led courses enhances our training programs.

The FBI's involvement is crucial to our mission. Their instructors bring valuable expertise to the ILEA. By sharing their real-world experience, FBI instructors help us better fight transnational crime, which impacts Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.

As criminal networks continue to evolve, the partnership between the FBI and ILEA plays a key role in making the region safer and more secure.
