On September 9, 2024, the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Bangkok was honored to host Colonel Adnan Sheikh of the Pakistan Anti-Narcotics Force during a visit to the academy. Accompanying Colonel Sheikh were representatives from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), including Michael Bryson, Staff Coordinator at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, and Marshall Brizidine, Country Attaché from DEA’s Islamabad Country Office. The visit was coordinated by Nicholas Willis, Country Attaché from the DEA Bangkok Country Office.
Director Efren Buenrostro of ILEA Bangkok provided a comprehensive tour of the academy, showcasing the facility’s state-of-the-art training operations. The tour included a detailed overview of the training programs designed to foster cooperation between law enforcement agencies across the Indo-Pacific region. ILEA Bangkok is a partnership between the U.S. and Thai governments, offering specialized training to law enforcement personnel throughout the Indo-Pacific.
Colonel Sheikh expressed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him by the ILEA team, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in the fight against narcotics and transnational organized crime.
The delegation’s visit underscores the ongoing global partnerships in the fight against narcotics trafficking and the commitment to fostering stronger relationships among law enforcement agencies worldwide.
