Congratulations to Police Major General Benjamin Acorda, Jr. on being appointed as the new Police Chief of the Philippine National Police Force.

On April 24, 2023, Police Major General Benjamin Acorda, Jr. was appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. to serve as the Chief of the Philippine National Police Force.  As the new head of the Philippine National Police Force, Chief Acorda leads 227,000 police officers. Chief Acorda succeeds General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. who retired. Chief Acorda is the 29th leader of the National Police and the second appointee of the current administration.

Chief Acorda, Jr. was a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1991 and previously led the Directorate for Intelligence before his appointment. Among the other positions he held were Chief of Staff of the Civil Security Group, Deputy Director for Operations of the National Capital Region Police Office, and Chief of the Northern Mindanao Police. He attended several USG training programs to include the International Law Enforcement Academy Supervisor Leadership Course in 2016.
