Fisheries Enforcement and Prosecution: Session 3 (March 4-8, 2024)

ILEA Bangkok, in collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), concluded Session 3 of Fisheries Enforcement and Prosecution training from March 4-8, 2024. The program saw the participation of 38 delegates from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

 The aim of the course was to equip regional government fisheries and marine legal advisors, as well as enforcement personnel, with essential knowledge and tools to effectively monitor, enforce, and prosecute fisheries violations. The training covered two main areas: legal and policy issues, and enforcement and investigative techniques. Participants received training on ship bridge and instrument operation, as well as import and landing inspections from various types of vessels including fishing vessels, reefers, and container ships.
