Director Cunney at the International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC) and Alumi Meeting in Bali, Indonesia

On August 3, 2022, ILEA Bangkok’s Program Director Andrew Cunney was invited to make a presentation at the International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC) in Bali, Indonesia regarding ILEA Bangkok. During his speech, Director Cunney highlighted ILEA Bangkok’s training programs and facility renovations in Bangkok and at the Law Enforcement Tactical Training Center in Cha-am.  Additionally, Director Cunney stressed the importance of law enforcement collaboration and cooperation between ILEA, other U.S. federal agencies, the Royal Thai Police, and fellow law enforcement professionals throughout Asia. 

Furthermore, to promote ILEA Bangkok’s Alumni Program, Director Cunney met and networked with former ILEA Bangkok Alumni in Bali.  To include, Gde Arya Wibawa (S.H., M.M., Chief of Sub-Directorate V and Police Commissioner Directorate of Intelligence and Security); Joni Antara Putra (S.H., Senior Investigator and Police Commissioner General Crime Directorate); Sinar Subawa (Deputy Director and Adjunct Senior Police Commissioner Directorate of Intelligence and Security Directorate) – all who attended the Major Events Security Coordination Course in March 2022, as well as Mrs. Ni Nyoman Wismawati (retired) who attended the Leadership for Women in Law Enforcement course in 2017 and who continues to support law enforcement activities in the region.

Each Alumni expressed their gratitude to Director Cunney for his presentation and acknowledged the benefits of the ILEA Training Program to help prepare them for their jobs, especially in preparation for the G20 summit scheduled in Bali, Indonesia in November 15-16, 2022.
